What is the process?

Are there additional forms for approval?
For $49.99, our therapists can complete accommodation forms if required by your housing provider. We prioritize your privacy and may decline overly invasive questions. After submitting the form, expect a follow-up call. Canadian residents can also apply for ESA housing and travel consultations.
What is a difference between an ESA and a PSD?
An Emotional Support Animal (ESA) provides emotional comfort without specialized training and is allowed in no-pet housing under the Fair Housing Act (FHA) but has no special rights for air travel or public access. A Psychiatric Service Dog (PSD) is trained to assist with psychiatric disabilities, is protected in housing, allowed to fly with documentation, and has full public access rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
What is the turn around time?
A licensed therapist will contact you within 2 business days for a phone consultation. If approved, you’ll receive your ESA letter by email right away, and a hard copy by USPS within 2–3 days if requested. If not approved, you’ll get a refund minus a $40 processing fee.
Can I get an ESA letter without having a pet?
No pet yet? Choose “I don’t have my pet yet” at registration for an additional $20. You’ll receive an initial recommendation letter and later update your pet details with a short assessment to get a final, fully valid letter. Our goal is to make the process easy and supportive for you. A therapist will contact you within 2 days.
How long does it take to get an ESA letter?
After approval, you can usually receive your ESA letter within 24 to 48 hours via email, allowing you to use it quickly for housing or travel. Delivery times may vary slightly depending on the service provider and their verification process, but most aim to expedite the process for your convenience. Many providers also offer hard copy delivery and ongoing support to keep your letter valid and up-to-date.
